Exactly, I agree. I watched a documentary about the way French school children eat. It was actually about how children’s school lunches are all over the world. When they got to France it was the highlight. Because the kids there were eating like 5 course gourmet meals as school lunch. At the time I thought how cool for them why can’t America follow that same nutritious standard.
Now looking back in retrospect I see that the leisurely lifestyle the French enjoy is because their nation is being heavily subsidized by Haitian reparations money. To be fair they obviously allocate it better than Americans because America has a lot of money coming in as well. But the French also I believe have a different cultural focus than America. America’s focus is on material goods. While the French do tend to have a much more philosophical artistic approach to just about everything. I never realized it before but it is now obvious that France would be considered a colonial power because of their current relationship with Haiti.
