I also have felt this way but I do know there are other African Americans who also have pondered their appearance. It could be that because I was raised by white people I had a different level of investment in that area. Because I grew up in a household surrounded by white people I knew without a doubt we were the same and not a separate race as the media and US Census department claimed. I think this is why so many African Americans who grow up raised by white people have so many identity issues. They are being forced to believe a lie that they have first hand experience isn’t true. The society they are supposed to be socialized into is in direct opposition to their lived experiences with their own white family members. I agree with you though most black people could literally care less if they are an invented race or not they just want them to stop terrorizing us.
