I wish we didn’t live in a world where the society locks people away for upholding a status quo created by the society.

Do I abhor the killing arm of the government known as law enforcement in this country, yes. I oppose every facet of this criminal justice system run by criminals. We have to start asking ourselves why a government that instituted slavery and Jim Crow is still the same institution we look to for justice and civility?As if their moral compass has shown that it functions well throughout history.

Derek Chauvin is just one scapegoat for a rotting system. When will we stop locking up people who have been damaged beyond belief emotionally by the very same societal system that pretends to maintain order and civility? While bloody bodies overseas line the edges of our conscience pushed out by patriotism or the pursuit of a dollar bill? Am I glad that this American system of hypocrisy is holding one murderer accountable? I can say it is a small granular sized gesture in an ocean of bloodshed.
