I wonder if anyone has studied why fascism would eventually need to morph into communism like that ? Out of necessity sure but it seems too coincidental that both the Romans and the Nazis would have been forced out of necessity into adopting communism post fascism. This also brings up another question. The Romans ran religious propaganda on the Jewish people during this time. This makes me nervous making this connection. Has America always been sort of fascist while presenting as a democracy ? I mean because we know now they’ve always elected the American leaders through money and power. Rome was the same.
It’s just that it appears that they’ve been employing fascist tactics since the 1940s. Propaganda started back then. And they’ve increasingly used Evangelical religious norms to keep people in line. Assimilation has also always been a part of the American status quo. Something just doesn’t sit right with me about the extreme level of propaganda that our media puts out when viewed from the context of the Roman Empire. I guess we call it nationalism now but maybe we shouldn’t. I think it’s more likely that the fascist evangelical right has always controlled a lot of the country behind the scenes. I use to have to pledge allegiance to the Christian flag and the American flag every morning at my religious school as a kid. My family is very religious and nationalistic.
