Is it okay for Americans with white skin to question the citizenship of non white Americans? I think maybe you are confused about race and ethnicity. Her ethnicity is Swiss her skin is black. Just like in America our ethnicities are often American but our skin colors are different ? Race is an outdated theory so there is no scientific or anthropological basis for bringing her race into the discussion. Surely you know that from matriculating through the Norwegian education system? Perhaps her attachment to being considered human wherever she visits is a reasonable expectation in 2021? Why the commitment to her othering? Is this perhaps something you have struggled with personally and chosen complacency? You seem to be expressly comfortable with questioning her motivations. So it should be no problem if I possibly examine yours. Is it just possible that socialization plays an integral role in our psychosocial development following us into adulthood?
