This is why we need to stress that we are not a monolith. I do not want to be recognized by white people. I spent my whole life as the only black person in the room. At home, at school, at gymnastics camp, on the soccer team. There was no scenario where I wasn't noticed by white people and it was always met with negativity from them. Whenever white people single me out I expect trauma of some kind to follow. I want nothing more than to blend in.
