You know I never really understood the enormous contribution to society science fiction has made until now. It’s like a mechanism of theoretical play. I never realized that before. So what is fantasy then? I suppose good fantasy is a mechanism for understanding our humanity up to this point. It deals with the past and current morality of the human being where as science fiction addresses the future moral and environmental problems facing human beings. So Star Wars did this perfectly then.

In a way science fiction writers propose new technologies and create a moral dilemma around it. If you really think about it it’s almost as if they are inventing new colors. Which honestly I don’t know why human beings can only invent things composed of existing colors. That doesn’t actually make any sense when you think about it.
